This page lists common requirements. It does not replace a bank circular. For the application sequence see how to apply. For “how much will I earn?” see commission.
Age and nationality
You must be an Indian citizen. Most BCs start at 18. Some prefer applicants who can be present at the outlet six days a week — a silent partner in another city is a weak case.
Education
10th pass is the usual floor; many BCs ask for 12th. You need to operate a Windows or equivalent system, a browser-based BC app, and a biometric device without daily hand-holding.
Shop and location
A street-facing shop or 100–200 sq. ft. commercial room is the default ask. First-floor residences inside societies, and locations within a short walk of an existing CSP of the same bank, are frequent rejections. The BC may visit before they commit.
Equipment
| Item | Why it is asked |
|---|---|
| Computer or laptop | BC software, receipts, reports |
| Printer | Passbook / acknowledgement where enabled |
| Stable internet | AEPS and DMT fail if the line drops mid-auth |
| Biometric / IRIS device | Aadhaar authentication; model is often BC-specified |
| Power backup (recommended) | Rural outages otherwise kill the day’s transactions |
We do not sell devices and do not quote a single “CSP kit price”. Vendors and any security deposit are set after a BC accepts the location.
Documents
- Aadhaar and PAN
- Educational certificates
- Identity and address proof
- Shop establishment or rent / ownership proof when asked
- Photographs of the intended counter
Who is often not taken forward
- No usable commercial space
- Unreachable phone or fake PIN
- Expecting a government job or fixed salary
- Already running an undisclosed CSP for another BC in the same catchment (declare it)
Apply Bank CSP only helps you enquire. Approval is solely the bank’s or Corporate BC’s decision.
